Helping Others With Horses
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13
One thing I love about farming is it can be so diverse, And ultimately anymore you have to be diverse in your business so that you can appeal to many different people. Well as a generational farm, there is often chances for the next generation to want to change things and that is exactly what is happening to my parents. I feel bad some days because I am typically getting them into things that we have no idea how we are going to accomplish ALL THE THINGS, but we manage.
One thing that I felt strongly about and was very passionate about was the ability to help people. God laid it on my heart many years ago and I wanted to see it through and that is something I am very thankful that my family, husband, and kids support. Big Maple Farm's Natural Therapies, Inc. is a place where I enjoy spending a few hours a day being involved with horses, riders, and volunteers helping them enhance their quality of life through horsemanship skills.
I am not going to lie though, this year looks different. Maybe it's because last year felt like a flop, maybe it's because I am managing an infant mixed in with everything else, or maybe it's the power of God. I can't be sure but I have a feeling this year is a God thing. I love watching the kids, the volunteers, and the horses work together to accomplish goals. I enjoy hearing how people are being impacted by their work and most of all I just enjoy those couple hours with the horses.
I know that I fall behind on paperwork and I get in a slump sometimes but God has this covered and the impact is much greater! This year I am continuing to move forward with the final phase of Certification, our lesson schedule is almost full, and well I am excited to see how we move forward with the year. I have some things that I really want to do this year and I have set my expectations high for myself but I know that with the power of prayer, I will draw strength from him and continue on even if I am exhausted. I feel that if we are able to find that purpose for ourselves that we will be fulfilled in our daily journey. If your a teacher, a janitor, a therapist, a doctor, or whatever career path you are on be sure you do it with your whole heart and be positive because you are there fulfilling a purpose.
I hope that you do your daily purpose with a strong heart that is strengthened by the Lord.
Farming with Faith & Family!
God Bless
Amanda
