Life is Never What It Seems

We live by Faith, not by sight.

2 Corinthians 5:7

This past year with Covid so many things have changed, but one thing has not and that is that we enjoy sitting down at the beginning of the year to write out our goals for the year.  The Boys' goals are usually pretty generic but they have meaning to them.  Well Logan's big goal for 2021 was to be able to reach the peddles and drive the scoop tractor all on his own.  It was a big deal for him and we were certainly pushing for him to eat salads, try meat, and grow big and strong.

Well I received a text message picture of Logan driving all by himself and I was so proud of him. He was so excited to meet his goal, but life is never what you expect.  One second your happy for Logan because he drove the tractor and the next, he is running in the house asking daddy to come help grandpa because the axle broke!

Yep! Within a matter of five minutes...ok maybe ten, the axle broke on the tractor in which Logan was just driving.  Now before you think Logan was driving when this happened he was not! Thankfully, But it quickly reminded us that things can happen fast unexpectedly.  This break was not one we were ready for! I mean who expects a tractor that is 4 years old to have this happen?  We certainly weren't but thankfully God was once again watching over us because it was covered with the warranty.  It was certainly a blessing to have that covered at this time and for the break to happen now instead of a couple months when the warranty expires.

Sometimes in the heat of the moment a situation can really rattle you and make you just mad, but when you step back and focus on all the things you realize that God is working.  Logan was able to achieve his goal, he didn't get hurt (and neither did anyone else), the tractor was covered under warranty, and it gave us time to reflect on how we can do things when a tractor is down for a week.  Life really is not what we make it.  We certainly have things that happen daily that we really weren't expecting, but we have to trust the plan for our life.  We may not like the plan and the troubles we go through, but we need to have faith and trust that all things will work out. We have to move forward.  They may not work the way we want but we just have to think that it is the way that God has it planned.

Oftentimes I am grateful for things like this because it reminds us to go by our faith and not by what we are seeing. These situations remind me that God is always in control and our plans are not his plans and these gentle reminders tend to keep things in perspective on a daily basis.

Always Farming with Faith & Family!
God Bless
Amanda
